Vera Dubai: A New Luxury Wellness Sanctuary in Jumeirah

Luxury has always been about indulgence. Today, however, it is increasingly defined by something deeper: intention. In a world of overstimulation and relentless pace, the ultimate luxury has become the ability to slow down, reconnect, and care for both body and mind in meaningful ways. This philosophy sits at the heart of Vera, a newly launched wellness and beauty sanctuary in Dubai’s Jumeirah district that aims to redefine how we experience self-care.
At a time when the wellness sector is experiencing unprecedented growth, Vera arrives as part of a wider cultural shift. The UAE’s health and wellness market reached an estimated USD 19.03 billion in 2024, with projections suggesting it will grow to USD 28.01 billion by 2033. The surge reflects a clear demand for experiences that go beyond traditional spa visits or fitness classes, offering instead a more holistic, integrated approach to wellbeing.
Vera speaks directly to this evolution. Located in Umm Suqeim, the concept brings together wellness, movement, and beauty within a single cohesive space, where treatments are designed to complement rather than compete with one another.

A journey, not a checklist
At Vera, wellness is approached as a layered experience rather than a series of disconnected services. A visit might begin with a private Pilates session to gently activate the body before transitioning into heat-based therapies that encourage muscular release and improved circulation. From there, guests may move into the steam-filled calm of a traditional hammam ritual or unwind with guided floating or thermal contrast therapy.
The emphasis is not on quick results but on creating a journey that allows the body to recalibrate naturally.
Advanced wellness technologies play a supporting role in these experiences. Systems such as the MLX iDOME triple detox and Gharieni thermal technologies are incorporated into tailored treatments designed to encourage detoxification, cellular renewal, and nervous system regulation. Each element works in harmony with the next, creating a sense of flow that mirrors the body’s own rhythms.
The result is wellness that feels intuitive rather than clinical.
The enduring power of ritual
While innovation shapes much of the modern wellness landscape, Vera’s philosophy is equally rooted in ancient traditions. Central to the experience is the hammam, a centuries-old ritual that draws from Moroccan and Eastern practices.
Within the softly lit steam room, the ritual unfolds slowly. Warm vapour opens the pores, mineral-rich exfoliation renews the skin, and restorative touch encourages circulation and relaxation. The process is deliberately unhurried.
Steam purifies. Touch restores. Time slows. In contrast to the instant gratification often associated with beauty culture, the hammam embodies a philosophy that values long-term wellbeing and quiet transformation.

The vision behind Vera
The concept was founded by Naureen Nawaz, a makeup artist turned wellness entrepreneur who recognised a growing gap between beauty services and holistic wellbeing.
Drawing on years of experience working closely with women and understanding their evolving needs, Nawaz envisioned a space where external refinement and internal restoration could coexist seamlessly.
“The conversation around wellness has shifted,” she explains. “Women are looking for alignment rather than isolated treatments. Vera was created as a space where movement, recovery and beauty work together. It is gentle in atmosphere, yet quietly powerful in intention.”
Beauty with purpose
Beyond its wellness therapies, Vera also houses a carefully curated beauty atelier that mirrors the same philosophy of refinement and balance.
The in-house hair studio partners with globally respected brands including Aveda, Kérastase, and Tokio Inkarami, with treatments focused on scalp health, repair, and long-term hair vitality rather than quick cosmetic fixes. Nail, lash, and brow services follow a similarly understated approach, favouring precision and elegance over excess.
Movement also plays an important role in Vera’s ecosystem. Dedicated Pilates and yoga sessions are designed to enhance strength, mobility, and mindful body awareness, reinforcing the idea that beauty and wellness are inseparable.

A space designed for stillness
Equally important to the Vera experience is the environment itself. Conceived as a private sanctuary, the villa-style space prioritises calm and discretion. Interiors are warm and minimal, with natural textures and muted tones that invite relaxation.
Rather than rushing through appointments, guests are encouraged to linger and move through the space at their own pace.
This sense of continuity extends to Page N, Vera’s in-house café, where visitors can extend their experience with thoughtfully prepared refreshments in a tranquil setting.
The future of wellness in Dubai
As Dubai’s wellness sector continues to evolve, the conversation is shifting toward preventative care, nervous system balance, and experience-led wellbeing. In this new landscape, spaces like Vera are becoming increasingly relevant.
Rather than focusing solely on treatments, Vera offers something more enduring: a sanctuary designed to nurture both outer beauty and inner equilibrium.
